2040 MTP Documentation
This page contains the documentation of the Sherman-Denison MPO's efforts to develop a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the horizon year of 2040. The full report in the format of a single document can be opened by clicking on the picture above.  The individual chapters (including the Executive Summary and Appendices) may be opened by clicking on each individual Chapter title itself.
Executive Summary
Executive Summary- a three-page summary of the plan development and ultimate MTP
Individual Report Chapters
Chapter 1
Existing Conditions - descriptions of existing roadway network, bicycle and pedestrian system, and freight and transit.
Chapter 2
Goals and Objectives - this chapter discusses the relationship between the MAP-21 Planning Factors, the National Performance Goals and the six Transportation Themes adopted by the Sherman-Denison MPO's Policy Board.
Chapter 3
Public Involvement Plan - development and implementation of the public involvement effort for the 2040 MTP.
Chapter 4
Environmental Justice - identification of those at risk populations - poor, minorities, elderly, and otherwise transportation disadvantaged.
Chapter 5
Financial Summary - explanation of anticipated revenues over the next 25 years.
Chapter 6
Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan - this plan identifies the gaps in both pedestrian and bicycle access and contains several project proposals for sidewalks and bicycle facilities in and between the Cities of Sherman and Denison.
Chapter 7
Travel Demand Model - this chapter explains the updates included in the 2040 model and any assumptions used in the travel model itself.
Chapter 8
2040 Cost Feasible Plan - this contains the list of projects that are expected to be funded through 2040.
